Sammy likes the idea of having a little brother, more or less. We have decided on the name Lucas. I will call him Lucas and Sam wants to call him Luke. When Sammy heard this, he said he wanted to call him Darth Vader.

Sammy is really getting smart. His new way of manipulating Mommy is asking me if I am happy or sad. He does it usually when I am mad at him. He knows I will say I am happy because I love him.

Sammy turned 3 last weekend. He had a huge pirate party complete with a bouncy house, treasure hunt, and pirate ship cake. He had such a blast. We got them inflatable swords so that they could duel in the bouncy house.

Halloween is drawing near and we have had his Peter Pan costume ready to go for months. We tried to get out the 5 foot tall animated skelly man this weekend. He was terrified. So we had to shrink it back down to put it away, but we accidentally left it out. He saw it and was scared, but I pointed out that he was taller now and that skelly man was a silly little midget man. He laughed and said, "Yeah, I am bigger. But I am a silly little midget man too!"

When Sam wants you to repeat what you said, he doesn't just say what, he says, "What did you say to me?"

He is very excited about being a big brother. He wants a sister named Ralph. He made up a song to sing to the baby last week. It was about poo poo.

So it has been a long summer of no posts about Sammy. I know. We have been so busy playing that I just didn't want to take the time away to write about it. But I will resume.

In addition to "no", Sammy's favorite word is "prolly." If the answer to your question is no, he will say "Prolly not." Or if he knows we can't do something today, but we could maybe do it tomorrow, he says "Prolly tomorrow."

Sammy loves to play pirates, especially Capt Hook vs. Peter Pan. He gets his sword out and give you yours and says, you be Cpt Hook and I'll be Peter Pan. I never get to be Peter Pan. And then if Daddy plays, I have to be Tinker Bell. He especially loves to pretend that his playground is a pirate ship. He steers the wheel and commands the crew to man the deck and pipe up the cannons. The cannon is his periscope and the plank is the swirly slide. He loves to make people walk the plank, especially Emu.

We redid his bedroom in pirate decor and painted the walls a sea blue color. He got a big boy bed from Pop Pop and Emu. It is the pirate ship in his room.

Sammy likes to go to the mall and get e prize from the Disney store, then go to PFChang's. He likes the filling for lettuce wraps and he has to use chop sticks. It is pretty hilarious watching a 2 year old use chop sticks to pick up fried noodles, but he's getting pretty good at it.

If he doesn't want you to do something, he will tell you, no, you don't want to. So if for example I said let's color this picture, he would say, no, you don't want to color, you want to play pirates.

Sammy is at home sick with Daddy today. He has a really bad cough. We were discussing taking him to the doctor this morning and I told Sam to watch the cough and if it gets worse, take him in. So right before he coughs now, he says I don't want to go to the doctor, and then coughs.

Sammy is such a ham. He loves to be the center of attention, and now he is taking credit for his performances. After he dances, sings, jumps, flips, or does a trick, he says, "Ta da!" Then he bows and says, "Thank you, Thank you." He was doing it in the driveway this morning while Daddy was trying to get him in the car.

His other favorite new thing is to wear Daddy's floppy civil war hat around. When he has the hat on, he is a cowboy. He cannot walk any where, he must gallop and yell, "Giddeeup!" He was excited this morning because Daddy found a similar, but less important, hat for him to wear to school today. He was thrilled and told everyone he saw to giddeeup this morning, even Willie and Big Kitty.

Sammy is a big fan of anything Peter Pan or pirates. Yesterday we had to wait while my tire was being fixed and they had a generic pirate ship with pirate guys to play with. Sammy was so excited to see it, and he immediately named the pirates. One guy was Captain Hook, another was Peter Pan... Then when we got home, I recorded "Treasure Planet." So we watched it, and he proceeded to name all of the characters Captain Hook and Peter Pan. Peter Pan is his favorite bedtime story too. He likes to get his little Peter Pan and Captain Hook guys and reinact the fights as we read.

Sammy is a rambunctious two year-old, who frequently gets boo boos, only he doesn't call them that. There is a TV show that he watches sometimes called Blue's Clues. The basic idea is that a dog named Blue helps his human friend to seach for the answer to a riddle. He finds clues because they are labeled with the dog's blue paw print. When they find a clue, they yell, "A clue, a clue!" Sammy recently had a big bruise on his shin. I asked him about it and he told me very proudly that he had a clue! So whenever he gets hurt, he proudly tells me that it means he is going to get another clue. I dropped a rack on my foot yesterday, and Sammy walked up behind me and said, "Yay Mommy! You're going to get a clue!"

We spent this Easter with Sammy's Rema, who turned 50 on Easter Sunday. We went to a Baptist church in North Myrtle Beach. It was packed and we sat in the lobby. When we were leaving, Sammy started yelling, "Bye Jesus! See you later, Jesus! Bye, bye Jesus!"
